Travelling circus

A gathering of young people aged 13 to 17, brought together by a shared motivation and a desire to promote circus arts across different villages in Aragon, creating a space for coexistence, daily interaction, respect and dialogue. An intercultural, social and artistic project.

Objectives

  • Promotion of community living, autonomy and active participation of young people.
  • Circus skills development through workshops and peer learning.
  • Production and staging of a show, combined with a tour of rural areas in Upper Aragon.

Project actions

  • Action 1: Meetings between schools from Zaragoza and Toulouse held in Toulouse.
  • Action 2: Production of shows, with training and creative workshops between Zaragoza and Toulouse.
  • Action 3: Tour. A week of shared activities and performances in Graus, Secastilla and Benabarre.

Results

  • Encourage creative, artistic and cultural activities while promoting circus arts.
  • Involve young people in exchange programmes and cross-border collaborative work centred on circus arts.
  • Bring together the realities of circus schools in France and Spain.

Acknowledgements

This call for microprojects has been funded with the surplus of the Spain–France–Andorra Territorial Cooperation Operational Programme (POCTEFA) 2007–2013, which was transferred to the Member States (Spain and France) as national contributions, thus losing its status as ERDF funds.
This call was managed jointly by all the institutional partners listed below.
With a budget of €575,000, it financed 100% of the eligible expenses of the territorial cooperation micro-projects presented on this website.
