Objectives
The project, implemented across solidarity-based and eco-responsible integration farms (Inser) in Iparralde and Navarre and funded by the Pyrenees Working Community (CTP), aims to promote cross-border exchange between integration schemes supporting people experiencing social exclusion and/or disability. These organisations are aromatic herb and horticultural farms that pursue a dual objective: social integration and organic agricultural production. Four of these organisations provide people with disabilities with professional activities alongside medical, social and educational support. Two are integration gardens that support people facing social difficulties.
Dates : 01/06/2022 – 30/11/2023
Budget : 25 000 €
Project actions
- The first phase of the project consisted of a meeting between supervisory staff. The second phase enabled staff from the different organisations to become acquainted. The first meeting took place at the end of September 2022 in Navarre, at the Josenea farm in Lumbier and the Elkarkide farm in Iruñea. The aim is to promote engagement in work, highlight individual skills and foster a circular economy.
- The second meeting took place in the Northern Basque Country, at the Château Bellevue Work Support Establishment and Service (ESAT) and the Espiute ESAT, two organisations supporting people with disabilities. During this event, participants visited the various farm workshops, as well as the ESAT shop.
Results
These two meetings led to valuable discussions on farm organisation and staff management.
