Objectives

The aim of the project was to establish and formalise cooperation agreements between several cooperatives for the future creation of a service cooperative: CoopCycle Euskal Herria, an institutional tool enabling the pooling of resources and services among cooperatives.

Results

  • Spaces for meeting and exchange established between cross-border SMEs.
  • Launch and assessment of the economic viability of the food home-delivery service.
  • Development of the final stage of sustainable logistics (from distribution centre or storage facility to final destination) in the urban centres of the intervention territories.
  • Institutionalisation and creation of the ‘Basque Country Koopcycle’ brand.
  • Creation of a sustainable home delivery service directly connected to public transport operators.
    Creation of a documentation and study kit based on these experiences for future use.

Acknowledgements

This call for microprojects has been funded with the surplus of the Spain–France–Andorra Territorial Cooperation Operational Programme (POCTEFA) 2007–2013, which was transferred to the Member States (Spain and France) as national contributions, thus losing its status as ERDF funds.
This call was managed jointly by all the institutional partners listed below.
With a budget of €575,000, it financed 100% of the eligible expenses of the territorial cooperation micro-projects presented on this website.
